OUTLAW KING TOUR TO DUNFERMLINE ABBEY No Outlaw King tour would be complete without visiting the final resting place of Robert the Bruce's body at Dunfermline Abbey. After his death his body was embalmed and his sternum cut open to extract his heart. It was then put in silver casket which Sir James Douglas wore round his neck and was carried to Spain. His body was carried by carriage draped in a black cloth from Cardross. stopping at Dunipace and Cambuskenneth Abbey. The funeral was a grand affair with Knights dressed in black gowns being part of the funeral cortege.
